Cake Research

When I asked the Hubs what baked good he would like for his b-day or whatever the occasion (in this case Valentine's Day), what does he want? A choosy, Chocolate Cake, with Melty Chocolate Chips with Chocolate Frosting. This is my fault because, what does he get? A Chocolate Cake with Melty Chocolate Chips with Chocolate Frosting-just what he asked for. And of course, for Valentine's Day in the shape of an innocent heart, (awww) which he magically eats in a pattern that turns the cake into Scarlett Johansen's boobs. If you have seen her for .00000000001 seconds or more you know what I am talking about.

Now, if only I could figure out how to eat a cake into the pattern of Ryan Reynold's abs.

My favorite part of this story, of course, is that the hubs walks in on me sipping my Chardonnay and googling SJ's boobs. "I am doing research for my blog."

Chocolate Chip Cookie Baggage

So, it makes me smile/giggle to think that the first...and probably last time my parents thought I was a genius was my kindergarten year. Sad as that sounds, it was a proud day for me when I realized that mine was the only one that actually worked and everyone else's was a joke!

The assignment was to recite a recipe (from heart) for our favorite food for a class cookbook that would be a gift to our parents. As my classmates babbled on about bread in a toaster and noodles with orange stuff stiring in a pot...macaroni and cheese, dumb-asses...I rolled my big blue eyes and I gave strict instructions on thawing butter, blending sugar, then adding one egg, 1 cup of flour, a teaspoon of baking soda....chocolate chips, always more vanilla then the recipe called for and bake at 325 for 15 minutes.

Now that I am on the brink of 25, I ponder my life and the possibility that my chocolate chip cookies continue to be my most ingenious invention...sad,but true.

You tell me...
Barely soften one stick of butter
Add 3/4 cups Brown Sugar
Barely blend...add one egg and a splash of vanilla extract

Bareley blend..add one and a halfish cups of flour, half a teaspoon of baking soda and a fourth a teaspoon of salt. Toss in as many FROZEN (key=frozen) chocolate chips(or peanut butter chips, if you are crazy) as you want and cover that bowl with a towel (or you will be covered with flour, cursing and your honey will know that you have had one too many and you are now operating a mixer and oven! Bad news!)

If the dough doesn't seem thick enough add a couple more tablespoons of flour. It should be thick enough that you can roll it into a ball without most of it sticking to your hands and palms

Blend until you have a chunky mixture, like the one below. (It will be a bumpy ride so put that Kitchen Aid on lock down, if you have one)

Don't forget to drink the rest of that Chardonnay and lick the beater!

Bake for 10-15 minutes at 325/ or until the cookie cracks like this one:

Share them with your honey (he'll never suspect too much Chardonnay, if they turn out delicious) loved ones, or bring them to work for extra brownie points, you professional biotches know what I am talking about!

Starting a Sweet lil' Buzzz

Only the sweetest person could have inspired me to start my own sweet spot, my cousin Kaitlyn Rose, of course! She and I share many passions. The first is always having an over the top fabulous time while being fabulous at all times, the second is making everything sweeter with yummy baked goods and the third may just have to be starting a lil' buzz with a nice glass of vino! When all 3 happen at once the possibilities are endless, the conversation is amazing and the laughter is uncontrollable. This blog is just the start of a good buzz, lets hope it never ends and just gets sweeter on this lil' sweet spot of mine! I hope you all enjoy.

Welcome 2009! I just know you will be even sweeter then 08!
